Terms of Sale

Last updated October 8, 2026

DRAFT — not legal advice; Derek to review (consider an attorney).

These terms apply when you buy a digital product from Layton Farms through our website at laytonfarms.com or our shop at shop.laytonfarms.com. By completing a purchase, you agree to them. We’ve tried to keep them plain and fair.

1. Who we are

Layton Farms is a family homestead business run by Derek Layton in Franklin, Kentucky. Contact: family@laytonfarms.com · [BUSINESS MAILING ADDRESS — PLACEHOLDER]

2. What you’re buying

All of our products are digital downloads (PDF files, or a ZIP of PDFs for bundles). Nothing is shipped. Each product page describes what’s included. Colors may look slightly different depending on your screen, printer and paper.

3. Prices, payment and tax

  • Prices are in US dollars and are shown on each product page.
  • Checkout is handled by Payhip. Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. We never see your full card number.
  • Payhip calculates and collects any applicable sales tax or VAT at checkout based on your location, and it may be added on top of the listed price.
  • We may change prices at any time, but a change won’t affect an order you’ve already paid for.

4. Delivery

After payment, you’ll get a download link on screen and by email from Payhip. If it doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or Promotions folder, then email family@laytonfarms.com and we’ll help.

5. Your license (what you can do with the files)

When you buy a product, you get a personal-use license:

You may:

  • Download, save and print the files as many times as you need for your own household or homestead
  • Print copies for your own family members who live and work on the same place
  • Build the project in a DIY plan for your own personal use

You may not:

  • Share, forward, upload or give away the files (or links to them)
  • Resell, sublicense or redistribute the files, in original or edited form
  • Sell printed copies, or use the designs in products for sale
  • Build items from our DIY plans to sell commercially without our written permission [DEREK: confirm. The plans say “personal, non-commercial use only.”]
  • Claim the work as your own

All content (text, photos, designs and plans) is © Layton Farms. All rights reserved.

6. Refunds

Because these are digital files you get instantly, all sales are final and we don’t offer refunds on digital downloads. If a file is damaged, won’t open or isn’t what the product page described, we’ll replace it or help you within 48 hours. See our Refund Policy. Nothing here limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

7. DIY plans: your responsibility

Our DIY build plans document projects we built on our own place. Your site, materials, skills, tools and local codes are different. You’re responsible for building safely and legally, including checking local building codes, HOA rules and utility locations. Planners and trackers are for organizing only and aren’t professional food-safety, veterinary, tax, legal or financial advice. Please read our DIY Safety Disclaimer.

8. Disclaimer and limit of liability

Our products are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent the law allows, Layton Farms isn’t liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any injury or property damage, that comes from using our products or building from our plans. If we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the product.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The version posted when you buy is the one that applies to your order.
