From our Franklin, Kentucky homestead

Real tools from a real homestead.

We're the Laytons, a working family on 2.6 acres around a 1910 farmhouse. We make the planners, checklists and build plans we use on our own place, and we share them here, along with what worked and what didn't.

Our story

About us, in short

We keep 27 chickens, a garden and a pantry we're trying to fill a little more every year, and our goal is to produce at least 75% of our own food. We're not there yet, and we'll tell you how it's going, failures included.
